Error Coin Identifier ("the app") is designed to respect your privacy. Coin analysis happens on your device, and your photos and collection stay on your device.
The app stores the following only on your device: photos you choose to analyze, your saved collection, analysis results and corrections you provide (used by the app's on-device engine to improve its matching), your profile information for PCGS paperwork (used only to prefill forms you generate), and — for Platinum members who choose to add one — your own Google API key. None of this is transmitted to us.
If you are a Platinum member and you enter your own Google API key and turn on the enhanced check, the coin photo for that check is sent to Google's API services under your own Google account, and usage charges are billed to you by Google. That transmission is governed by Google's privacy policy. This feature is off unless you enable it, and the app's built-in engine works without it.
The app can connect to Spotify so you can listen while you scan. Spotify account access is handled by Spotify's own sign-in, and Spotify's privacy policy applies to data Spotify processes. The app does not receive or store your Spotify password.
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to help us understand how the app is used so we can improve it. Analytics reports anonymous usage events — such as scans performed, features used, subscription tier, ads watched, app version, device model, operating system, and country/region — without your coin photos, your name, or your precise location. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and UK), analytics and advertising run only after you accept through the consent form shown in the app. You can turn analytics off at any time in Profile > Privacy.
Free and Premium tiers show ads served by Google AdMob; Platinum shows none. AdMob may use device advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads, under Google's privacy policy and your consent choices.
We do not operate servers that receive your photos, collection, or analysis data. We do not sell personal data. Analytics data above is processed by Google Firebase on our behalf as described in this policy.
Subscriptions are processed by Google Play. Google handles your payment information under its own privacy policy; we never see your payment details.
The app is not directed at children under 13.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
